About polyester fabric

Update:10 Dec
Polyester fiber fabric is a synthetic fiber obtained by spinning polyester that is polycondensed with organic dibasic acid and dihydric alcohol. The polyester fabric chain research report pointed out: the industrialized mass production of polyester fiber is made of polyethylene terephthalate, and the Chinese trade name is polyester. It is currently the largest variety of synthetic fibers.

The specific gravity of polyester is 1.38; the melting point is 255~260℃, it starts to bond at 205℃, the safe ironing temperature is 135℃; the moisture absorption is very low, only 0.4%; the breaking strength of filament is 4.5~5.5g/d , Short fiber is 3.5~5.5 g/denier; the elongation at break of filament is 15~25%, short fiber is 25~40%; the strength of high-strength fiber can reach 7~8 g/den, and the elongation is 7.5~ 12.5%. Polyester has excellent wrinkle resistance, elasticity and dimensional stability, good electrical insulation properties, resistance to sunlight, abrasion, mildew and moth, good resistance to chemical reagents, and resistance to weak acids and alkalis. At room temperature, it has a certain resistance to dilute and strong acids, but it has poor resistance to strong alkalis. The dyeing performance of polyester is poor, and it is generally required to be dyed with disperse dyes at high temperature or in the presence of a carrier.

Polyester fiber has high strength and elastic recovery ability, so it is durable, wrinkle-resistant and non-ironing. Its light fastness is better, except that it is worse than acrylic fiber, its light fastness is better than natural fiber fabric, especially the light fastness behind the glass is very good, almost equal to acrylic fiber. In addition, the polyester fabric has good resistance to various chemicals, and the degree of damage to it by acid and alkali is not great. At the same time, it is not afraid of mold or insects.

However, polyester fiber has poor water absorption and is not breathable. When worn in summer, it feels very stuffy. This is mainly due to the low moisture content and poor air permeability of polyester fiber compared with natural fiber. This is why in the summer wearing clothes made of polyester fiber fabric, we feel uncomfortable after sweating, the clothes stick to our skin. Moreover, it is easy to absorb dust and generate static electricity. There is a lot of wind and sand in winter. It can be imagined that clothes made of polyester fiber fabric are easily contaminated with dust. Not only does it cause unsightly, but the most annoying thing is the static electricity generated, which not only feels tingling, but also because of static electricity if it is pants. It clings to the skin and completely loses the shape of the pants, which is very unsightly. It is easy to be used by unscrupulous businessmen to produce high-end fabrics. Polyester fiber is difficult to judge with the naked eye because of its feel and appearance. In addition, many consumers do not understand that polyester fiber is the scientific name of polyester. The new name is misled by the new name as a high-end fabric, and some think it is a derivative of silk, which makes it difficult for consumers to define the concept of silk and polyester fiber.
