In terms of production technology, the technical requirements for waterproof and breathable fabrics are much higher than those of general waterproof fabrics; at the same time, from the perspective of quality, waterproof and breathable fabrics also have functional characteristics that other waterproof fabrics do not have. The waterproof and breathable fabric strengthens the air-tightness and water-tightness of the fabric. At the same time, its unique vapor permeability can quickly discharge water vapor inside the structure, avoid mold breeding in the structure, and keep the human body always dry, which perfectly solves the problem of ventilation, windproof, and waterproof. Heat preservation and other issues are a new type of healthy and environmentally friendly fabric.

Real waterproof fabrics can withstand the pressure of water seepage in a humid climate for a long time without water seepage. For example, walking in the wind and rain for a long time, kneeling or sitting on damp ground, will not seep water.

Since the surface tension of a solid is almost impossible to measure, in order to understand the wettability of a solid surface, someone measures its critical surface tension. Although the critical surface tension cannot directly indicate the surface tension of the solid, it can explain the difficulty of the solid surface to be wetted. But it should be noted that the determination of critical surface tension is an empirical method, and the measurement range is also very narrow.

Waterproof fabrics have heat resistance, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, non-stickiness, moisture resistance, and sliding properties.



1. Heat resistance: waterproof polyester fabric and polyester waterproof and breathable fabric have excellent heat resistance and low temperature resistance after being coated with Teflon. It can withstand high temperature to 300°C in a short time, and generally can be used continuously between 240°C and 260°C. It has remarkable thermal stability. It can work at freezing temperature without embrittlement and does not melt at high temperature.

2. Wear resistance: breathable fabrics and polyester waterproof and breathable fabrics have excellent wear resistance under high load. Under a certain load, it has the dual advantages of wear resistance and non-sticking.

3. Corrosion resistance: Long nylon breathable fabric and polyester waterproof and breathable fabric are hardly corroded by chemicals, and can protect parts from any kind of chemical corrosion.

4. Non-sticky: waterproof fabric and polyester waterproof and breathable fabric are bonded with Teflon film. The very thin film also shows a good waterproof, oil-repellent, and anti-fouling functional fabric. 

5. Moisture resistance: Long breathable fabric and polyester waterproof and breathable fabric coating film surface does not stick to water and oil, and it is not easy to be stained with solution during production operation. If a small amount of dirt is stuck, it can be removed by simple wiping, saving man-hours and improving work efficiency .

6. Sliding properties: waterproof fabric and polyester waterproof and breathable fabric made of Teflon coating have a lower coefficient of friction. The friction coefficient changes when the load slides, but the value is only between 0.05-0.15.
