Introduction to the advantages and disadvantages of polyester fabrics

Update:12 Nov
Polyester fabric is a kind of chemical fiber clothing fabric that is widely used in daily life. Its advantages are that it has good wrinkle resistance and retention, so it is suitable for outdoor products such as clothing jackets, various bags, handbags, and tents.

Advantages of polyester fabric:

1. Polyester fabric has good heat resistance. It can be said that polyester fabric has better heat resistance among chemical fiber fabrics, and has strong plasticity. If it is made into a pleated skirt, it can maintain the pleats well without too much ironing.

2. The light resistance of polyester fabric is relatively good. Products made of polyester fabrics are usually more resistant to sunlight refraction, which exceeds that of natural fiber fabrics. Exposing polyester fabrics to the sun will basically not cause any problems, so there is no need to worry about any problems with it. This is because this feature makes the light resistance of polyester fabrics almost equal to that of acrylic fabrics.

3. Polyester fabric has strong abrasion resistance. The abrasion resistance is only lower than that of nylon with good abrasion resistance, and it is stronger than other natural fibers and synthetic fibers.

4. The polyester fabric has good corrosion resistance. The textiles made of polyester fabrics are not damaged by alkalinity or acid to a large extent, so some bleaching agents and oxidants will not work on them at all, and polyester textiles are resistant to mold and insects.

Disadvantages of polyester blend fabric:

1. The dyeability is not good. Because there is no specific dyeing group on the molecular chain of polyester, and the polarity is low, it is difficult to dye, and the dyeability is not good, and the dye molecules are not easy to enter the fiber. But the color fastness is good and the color is not easy to fade.

2. The melting resistance is not good. Polyester is a fabric with good heat resistance among synthetic fabrics. It has thermoplastic properties and can be easily used to make pleated skirts, with long-lasting pleats and not easy to deform. In addition, polyester fabrics have poor melting resistance and are prone to forming holes in the presence of soot and sparks. When wearing clothes made of polyester fabrics, you should try to avoid contact with cigarette butts and sparks.

3. Poor hygroscopicity. Wearing has a sense of sultry heat, and at the same time it is easy to be charged with static electricity and contaminate small dust, which affects the appearance and comfort of the clothes. However, it is easy to wash and dries, and the wet strength is almost unchanged, and it is not easy to deform.

4. It is easier to pilling. Polyester fabric is a kind of artificial synthetic fiber products. All synthetic fiber fabrics will have the problem of pilling! And polyester fabric as a kind of artificial synthetic fiber is of course no exception, so polyester fabrics will pass through for a period of time. Will pilling.
